We are going to paint the rooms in our house and i have a 1 year old and a 2 month old baby.

Our baby s bedroom started smelling like paint two days ago. We at one time had a wool area rug in it and thought that was the cause of the smell. It has a hardwood floor. However the odor of fresh paint can be irritating and unpleasant.

The paint smell is not really dangerous for brief exposures. We have lived in our house for one year and one of the bedroom s often smells especially after the door has been closed all night. The room is our 11 month old s bedroom and it also has a spare bed in it. If the door is closed for a while and you enter the room it is so strong it will give you a headache.

There would be a concern if the babies were exposed daily for a long period.
